Dream up Ideas for your Home Renovation Project

Whether you’re remodeling your kitchen, bathroom or building your dream home, get involved with the design process and show your personality through the way you live in your spaces and with the selections you make for your finishes.
One of the first things to consider when designing the layout of your home or just a single room, is how do we live in our space? Are we in-door, out-door entertainers; do we have kids who need play space inside and out? Are we want a chef’s kitchen; what are all the necessary appliances we can dream up? Or how much time do we spend in the kitchen... do we have kids we need to keep an eye on, or do we want that space to be closed off from the chaos… Will we need a private office? One or two sinks in the kid’s bathroom? Do we decorate for every holiday? How much storage would the décor require? Start the process of planning your spaces by asking yourselves how you will live in them. In hyve each room has a section for notes, this is where you can write out your vision on the way each space will be used in your home. Having these specific notes in hyve will be extremely helpful for your designer/architect to understand your vision when they start the layout of your project.
During your dreaming process and throughout the renovation process, you will be tasked with making many "finish" selections from faucets, to tile, flooring, lighting, paint color, door swing, and so on. Where, to me as a designer, this is the most fun and exciting part of the renovation, it can also be daunting with the sheer number of choices that need to be made. With hyve you can simplify this process by identifying all the products you will need for your project first. This will give you the ability to create product lists for you and your team to know what selections need to be made. Once you make decisions, enter all product details, including images, a pdf of the manufacture’s specification sheets/installation instructions, image of receipt, as well as the web link to the product for future reference. All these details are necessary and helpful for your design team during placement planning and for your contractors during product installation.
